Hi, my name is Lynn and I am accountant / bookkeeper and a new Mum.

I am fully qualified ACCA accountant with over 14 years of experience of working in accountancy practises. I am currently working towards obtaining my own practising certificate to enable me to prepare year end accounts and tax returns under my own name, consequently I am enjoying bookkeeping work until this achieved. Over the years I have prepared many VAT returns, accounts and tax returns and I hope to draw on this experience to give a higher quality of bookkeeping. In recent years I have mainly worked for clients trading in music, film & tv and associated creative industries. I generally find creative industries fascinating to work for, however I have assisted many clients from many industries over the years. I am not sure how best to describe myself, however I like to think of myself as not being dull! I’m interested in trying new things and love experiencing different cultures and cuisines, generally exploring whether home in the UK or abroad (when I get the chance). Some friends, family and former colleagues have described me as having a silly sense of humour, being an empathetic and encouraging person. I try my best, take on challenges and try to have a positive outlook on life. 

I moved to Bath from London in 2018 as my husband and I were expecting our first child. With these changes in my life I have taken the opportunity to set-up my own company McQuarrie Cloud Ltd. I have always been a fan of new technology and when I stumbled across cloud accounting about 10 years ago, I was very intrigued. I believe that remote working and digital record keeping is a chance to enable a successful and happy work life balance. I hope McQuarrie Cloud Ltd will enable me to further my career whilst being a good Mum to my son. 

From becoming a new Mum, I have been tested in ways I never imagined before but have found new strengths and skills. Previously, I was a very organised and diligent person in many aspects of my life including my studies and my work. Planning everything in advance. However, as babies do not run to a precise timetable, I have now learnt to be a lot more dynamic and adaptable. I love this newfound empowerment of being prepared for anything!
